## PCT - NATIONAL PHASE ENTRY

**Patent Term:** 20 Years

**Deadline:** 31 Months

**Language:** Spanish

**Translation:** Required if not in Spanish

**Charge for Excess Claims:** Yes, amendments may incur additional translation costs

**Examination Request:** Deferred; Examination request must be made within 6 months of the national phase entry

**Required Documents:** POA Required; Faxed or scanned copies accepted; Published claims must be filed at entry

**Annuities:** The first annuity is due by the 4th anniversary of the filing date

## PARIS CONVENTION - DIRECT FILING

**Patent Term:** 20 Years

**Deadline:** 12 Months

**Language:** Spanish

**Translation:** No extension

**Charge for Excess Claims:** None

**Examination Request:** Deferred; Examination can be requested up to 6 months after publication

**Required Documents:** POA Required; Certified copy of the Priority Document and Spanish translation, or DAS code, needed within 16 months from priority date

**Annuities:** The first annuity is due at time of filing

## DESIGN APPLICATION

**Patent Term:** 10 Years

**Deadline:** 6 months from registration date

**Language:** Spanish

**Translation:** Required if not in Spanish

**Charge for Excess Claims:** N/A

**Examination Request:** Examination request not required

**Required Documents:** POA Required; Certified copy of design drawings or photographs

**Annuities:** The first annuity is due by the 1st anniversary of registration date

## TRADEMARK APPLICATION

**Patent Term:** 10 Years

**Deadline:** None (renewable every 10 years)

**Language:** Spanish

**Translation:** Required if not in Spanish

**Charge for Excess Claims:** N/A

**Examination Request:** Examination request not required

**Required Documents:** POA Required; Proof of use or intent to use may be required

**Annuities:** The first annuity is due by the 1st anniversary of registration date
