## PCT - National Phase Entry

**Patent Term:** 20 years

**Deadline:** 30 months

**Language:** Portuguese or English

**Translation:** Portuguese translation required within one month

**Charge for Excess Claims:** No

**Examination Request:** Automatic at NPE

**Required Documents:** Deed of assignment if applicable

**Annuities:** Starting from the 3rd year

## Paris Convention - Direct Filing

**Patent Term:** 20 years

**Deadline:** 12 months

**Language:** Portuguese or English

**Translation:** Portuguese translation within 2 months

**Charge for Excess Claims:** No

**Examination Request:** Automatic at NPE

**Required Documents:** Priority document if requested by PTMO

**Annuities:** Starting from the 3rd year

## Design Application

**Patent Term:** 5 years

**Deadline:** 6 months from priority

**Language:** Portuguese or English

**Translation:** Required if not in Portuguese

**Charge for Excess Claims:** -

**Examination Request:** Automatic examination

**Required Documents:** Priority document if requested by PTMO

**Annuities:** Renewal fees due at 5 years, then every 5 years

## Trademark Application

**Patent Term:** 10 years

**Deadline:** 6 months from priority

**Language:** Portuguese or English

**Translation:** Notarized Priority Document at filing

**Charge for Excess Claims:** -

**Examination Request:** Automatic examination

**Required Documents:** POA required, notarized Priority Document at filing

**Annuities:** Renewal fees due every 10 years
